Son of Thomas and Ann (known as Nancy) Singleton, of Bradshawgate, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Annie Margaret Singleton (nee Jones), of 68, Hilden Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 70, Eustace Street, Bolton, Lancashire. An Old Boy of Bolton Grammar School (1872). Enlisted 26/11/1914 at Bolton as Private S/4/035529, Royal Army Service Corps, and discharged 16/12/1914 as not likely to become an efficient soldier. Reenlisted January 1915 in Royal Army Veterinary Corps. Died at sea in the Dardanelles from enteric fever / dysentery.
