Enlisted 23/08/1915 at Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, as Private 142497, 76th Bn., Canadian Infantry, but was discharged on account of his young age. Later re-enlisted and went to the front around Christmas 1916. Reported missing following a gas attack and subsequently presumed killed.
