Elder son of John William (Stepfather) and Mary Ann Warburton (formerly Brockbank, nee Smith), of 41, Cellini Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and son of the late Jonathan Brockbank; husband of Margaret Alice Brockbank (nee Beddows), of 169, Wood Street East, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Reported in BJ&G as Harry WARBURTON. Court of Enquiry determined he was accidentally killed “by the explosion of a Mills bomb negligently and carelessly placed in the fire in Hut 11 (Bois-Des-Alleux) by himself: and that the bomb was removed from the fire by Private Brockbank immediately before it exploded.”
