Hough, George –

Son of Job and Mary Jane Hough, of 5, Wheatfield Street, Haulgh, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Municipal Secondary School. Formerly Sergeant 707, Australian Imperial Forces. Commissioned 19/08/1916. Killed by a shell during a fierce bombardment.

James, William Ormond –

Husband of Mary James, of 75, Lawn Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 15, Silverwell Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Caught as an absentee from Perham Down since 05/12/1916 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 11/12/1916 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/27). Wounded at Ypres 04/10/1917 in the face, both knees and right forearm by shrapnel; lost right eye.

Wounded at Gallipoli 02/05/1915 by gunshot. Commissioned Second Lieutanant 20/01/1916. Promoted Lieutenant 12/03/1916. Promoted Captain 20/05/1915. Died at 3rd Casualty Clearing Station, France.

Johnson, Frank Henry –
