Marriott, John Alfred –

Son of Edward and Louisa Jessie Marriott, of “Bramble Beach”, 68, Warren Drive, New Brighton, Cheshire. Native of Longsight, Manchester, Lancashire. Also lived in Spring Bank, Irlam, Lancashire, and Urmston, Lancashire.

Marsh, James –

Husband of Mrs. J. Marsh, of 43, Swanwick Avenue, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and formerly of 11, Mayflower Avenue, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; brother of Mrs. E. Finlayson (nee Marsh), of 8, Beresford Avenue, Deane, Bolton, Lancashire. Wounded with a fractured thigh and shrapnel wounds 03/05/1917.

Marsh, John Frederick –

Son of John and Hannah Marsh (nee Pendlebury), of 24, Ruston Road, Smithills, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Faith Marsh (nee Bradbeer), of 121, Spruce Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Reported in BJ&G as Fred Marsh, enlisted in August 1914, prior to which he was employed by the Canadian Government, and invalided from Salonika to England with Malaria in September 1916.

Matthias, Fred –

Son of John Matthias, of 88, Ramwell Street5, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 21, Wentworth Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Brother of David Matthias, of 1064, Cannon Street, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Died at Mountain Sanatorium Hospital of tuberculosis.

Son of William and Catherine Maxwell, of 46, Argyle Avenue, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Formerly of Stewart Street, Bolton, Lancashire.

McCann, William –

Son of John McCann, of 21, Kay Street, Bolton, Lancashire, brother of Mrs. Mary McGlynn, of 1, Hill Lane, Bolton, Lancashire. Emigrated to Canada and settled in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Killed North East of Albert while taking a message from his Company Commander to Bn. Headquarters.

Husband of Mrs. Jane Mills, of 1337, Bannatyne Avenue, Verdun, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and formerly of 337, St. Augustine Street, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Moore, Fred –

Husband of Clara Moore (nee Rylands), of Astley Bridge, Bolton, Lancashire.

Morris, William Stanley –

Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Morris, of Doffcocker, Bolton; brother of Frances Lewis, of 45, Markland Hill Lane, Bolton, Lancashire. Resided at the Urbana Hotel, Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A. Whilst taking part in the attack from Vrely to South of Maucourt he was hit in the head and killed by an enemy machine gun bullet. Two brothers also served.
