Son of Sam and Lucy Boardman, of 27, Campbell Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Emigrated to Canada in 1913. Memorial in Farnworth Cemetery.

Boardman, Joseph Alphonsus –

Son of Charles Johnathan and Lydia Boardman, of 62, Central Avenue, Highfield, Farnworth, Lancashire. Formerly of 19A, Plodder Lane, Farnworth, Lancashire. “During the operations South West of Wytschaete, this soldier was hit in the head by an enemy rifle bullet, and instantly killed.”

Son of John William Boswell, of 1037, Ethel Street, Verdun, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. An old boy of Bolton Municipal Secondary School. Dangerously wounded, subsequently died, gunshot wound left arm. Died at No.7 Casualty Clearing Station.

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Bottomley, of 59, Calvert Road, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Previously served 6 years with the 3rd East Lancashire Brigade, Royal Field Artillery.

Boydell, William Henry –

Son of Thomas and Elizabeth Jane Boydell, of Hawkesbury, Ontario, Canada. Formerly 77th Bn., Canadian Infantry.

Bradbury, Norman Offley –

Youngest son of James and Anne Bradbury, of 29, Bromwich Street, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Municipal Secondary School. Formerly a member of the staff of the Bolton Education Offices. Previous service of four years in the Royal Army Medical Corps. Died at No.58 Casualty Clearing Station from syncope.

Brookes, Albert Edwin –

Son of Edwin and Sarah Ann Brookes, of 73, Bolton Road, Walkden, Lancashire. Of 1045, Gerrard Street East, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, returned to England with his child after being widowed shortly before the war. Enlisted June 1916. Wounded 12/04/1917 by gunshot in the right shoulder and back.

Brotherton, Tom –

Second son of Reuben Brotherton, of 10, Hastings Road, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 31, Queensgate, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Municipal Secondary School. Previously in the employ of Messrs. Tillotson and Son, Ltd. Formerly Sergeant 45574, Motor Machine Gun Brigade., Canadian Machine Gun Corps. Commissioned 1916. During the operations in the vicinity of Passchendale, on the night of 29/10/1917, this officer was leading his Battery to a new position, when he was instantly killed by enemy shell fire. Step-brother of Tom Lever.
