Son of Thomas Charles and Mary Jane Ainscow (nee Hardman), of 56, George Street, Bolton. Formerly Private 1891 / Sergeant 3214, 5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Wounded in Mesopotamia. Commissioned 07/06/1918. Married Nora Emilia Stewart at Poona, Bombay, India 28/04/1920.

Almond, James –

Son of George and Nanny Almond, of Horden Cottage, High Street, Belmont, Lancashire. Employed in the Indian Civil Service. Served in Baluchistan.

Binns, Bernard Ottwell –

Son of Rev. Ottwell and Rosetta Annie Binns, of The Parsonage, Ainsworth, Lancashire. An old boy of the Bury Grammar School. Joined the Officer Training Corps in April 1917 and commissioned subsequently into the Indian Army.

Chapman, Gordon Humphrey –

Eldest son of the Reverend Theodore Charles Chapman, M.A. and Alice Barr Chapman, of 24, Canynge Square, Clifton, Bristol; husband of Helen Lees Chapman, of Victoria Road, Harrogate, Yorkshire. His brothers Perceval and Theodore also fell. Attached as Brigade Major to 28th Brigade, 7th Indian Division.

Davison, William Hope –

Eldest son of Rev. William Hope Davison, of 545, Chorley Old Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Died from enteric fever in Punjab, India.

Ellis, Stanley –

Son of Mr. and Mrs Ellis, of 432, Lever Edge Lane, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Municipal Secondary School. Formerly 10th Bn., Middlesex Regiment. Commissioned into the Indian Army November 1917.

Fulton, Charles Fredrick Vernon –

Son of Colonel Fredrick Charles Fulton and Hester Kathleen Fulton; husband of Nora Minnette Fulton, of Durban, Natal, South Africa. Played as a Second Lieutenant in a football match in October 1916 for the 2nd/10th Bn., King’s Liverpool Regiment, against a team from the 2nd/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.

Higgin, James Lawrence –

Son of Charles Napier Higgin and Edith Margaret Higgin, of Summerland, British Columbia, Canada. Attached 2nd Bn., 10th Gurkha Rifles.

Jacques, Frank Augustus –

Third son of the late reverend Canon Kinton Jaques, formerly vicar of Westhoughton, Lancashire, and of Caroline Jacques; husband of Olivia Katharine Jacques, of San Diego, California, U.S.A.

Son of Colonel Russell Richard Pulford, C.I.E. (Royal Engineers); husband of Hilda Frances Pulford, of Louisa Cottage, Exmouth, Devon. Formerly of 27, Marine Parade, Worthing, Sussex. An old boy of Rivington and Blackrod Grammar School. First British Military Governor of Nasiriya. Sometimes mistakenly recorded / reported as Barry Pulford.
