Of 32, Waterside, Bolton, Lancashire. Caught aged 24 as an absentee from Clapham, Bedfordshire since 26/08/1915 and since 06/10/1915. Appeared before Bolton Magistrates 07/09/1915 and 18/10/1915 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/26).

Barnes, Joseph (Joe) –

Son of Joseph and Mary Ann Barnes, of 18, Folds Road, Bolton, Lancashire. One of six out of seven sons serving.

Barnett, George Thomas –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. George Barnetet, of 18, Hill Field, New Bury, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted April 1917 aged 19. Wounded by shrapnel in the right foot June 1918. Killed instantly by a shell.

Barnett, John –

Of the Windmill Inn, Westhoughton, Lancashire. Caught aged 23 as an absentee from Heaton Park Camp since 27/01/1918 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 28/01/1918 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/29).

Baughan, William Arthur –

Of 67, Portland Street, Southport, Lancashire. Formerly Private 4871, 10th Bn., King’s Liverpool Regiment. Played in a football match in October 1916 against a team from the 2nd/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.
