Blears, Harold –

Son of Sarah Jane and the late Thomas Blears, of 4, Richmond Grove, Eccles, Lancashire. Named as Harold on CWGC and Medal Card, but as Harry on SDGW. Formerly 1522, 1st/5th Bn., Manchester Regiment.

Blease, Harvey –

Son of Walter and Mary Blease, of 25, Sefton Drive, Liverpool, Lancashire; husband of Helen Dorothy Stanley Blease, of “Rostherne”, Blundellsands, Liverpool, Lancashire. Attached 7th Bn., Lancashire Fusiliers.

Boardman, Alfred –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Boardman, of 99, Lumsden Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted February 1916. Reported wounded and missing since 30/11/1917 and subsequently confirmed taken prisoner of war. Died of wounds in hospital at Hamburg, Germany.

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Booth, of 181, Bridgewater Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted February 1916. Wounded.

Booth, Peter –

Son of Peter and Maria Booth, of 139, Darley Street, Brownlow Fold, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly 301765, Royal Garrison Artillery. In 1918, brothers Frank (in France) and Will (in hospital) also served.

Botterill, William –

Of 2, New Lane, Breightmet, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted June 1915. Formerly Sergeant 5107, 4th/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Promoted from Private to Lance Corporal 16/08/1915.

Bottomley, Christopher –

Son of Mr. Bottomley, of 35, Blackbank Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly of 8, Villiers Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Caught aged 21 as a deserter from Hightown, Liverpool since 08/11/1914 and appeared before Bolton Magistrates 26/11/1914 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/25). Taken prisoner of war April 1918. One of six brothers serving.
