Brown, Alexander –

Son of James and Eleanor Brown, of 19, Melrose Street, Pendleton, Lancashire. Service number incorrectly recorded as R/2506 on SDGW, R/2566 confirmed with Medal Card.

Browning, Edward –

Brother of Mrs. E. Bonner, of 32, Todd Street, Bolton, Lancashire. A sniper, he was shot in the head by an enemy sniper and killed instantly.

Bullen, Henry (Harry) –

Son of Inspector Harry Charles Bullen, of the Bolton Borough Police, and of Alice Mary Bullen, of 1, Brazley Avenue, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 95, Crescent Road, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted aged 16. Formerly 16711, King’s Shropshire Light Infantry. Contracted malaria whilst serving in Salonika. Shot through the abdomen 05/07/1918.

Campbell, J –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Campbell, of 141, Eskrick Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted October 1914. Wounded 17/03/1916. Taken prisoner of war 24/03/1918.

Carberry, Joseph –

Husband of Lily Carberry (nee Halliwell) of 4, Peel Street, Pendleton, Lancashire; brother of Michael Carberry, of 5, Tulip Street, Lower Broughton, Salford, Lancashire. Reported missing since 31/10/1914 and subsequently presumed killed. Surname sometimes recorded as CARBERY.

Chamley, William James –

Son of Annie Elizabeth Chamley, of Bridge House, Woodhouse, Milnthorpe, Westmorland, and the late Richard William Chamley. Formerly of 6, Clegg’s Lane, Little Hulton, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1915.
