Hampson, Albert –

Nephew of James Buckley, of 79, Windley Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Previously enlisted 18/05/1915 at Bolton as Privatre 58735 in the Royal Army Medical Corps and discharged 26/05/1915 as not likely to become an efficient soldier. Subsequently re-enlisted. Home service only. Posted for a time as Private 31771, 2nd Garrison Bn., Cheshire Regiment.

Hampson, Herbert –

Husband of Mrs. Hampson, of 410, Hulton Lane, Bolton, Lancashire. Reported missing since 11/04/1917 and subsequently presumed killed.

Hampson, James –

Son of Henry and Annie Hampson, of 6, Worthington Street, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed by Jackson’s Stone Quarries Ltd., at Edge Fold, Middle Hulton, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Private 3347, 1st/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Wounded in August 1916 and in 1917. Reported missing and subsequently confirmed prisoner of war at Munster in Germany from 30/11/1917. Re-enlisted at Bolton on 31/03/1921 as Gunner 738927 in the 53rd East Lancashire Brigade, Royal Field Artillery for further 1 year service being discharged on termination of engagement 30/03/1922.

Hampson, John Roland (Jack) –

Of 53, Church Street, Little Lever, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Municipal Secondary School. Known locally as Jack, a noted sportsman, in particular of football, cricket and snooker. Played football for Bolton Wanderers October / November 1915.

Son of Abraham and Alice Ann Hampson, of 91, Manchester Road West, Little Hulton, Lancashire, and formerly of 124, Cleggs Lane, Little Hulton, Lancashire. Enlisted October 1914.

Hampson, Robert –

Son of Charles Hampson, of 420, Bolton Road, Kearsley, Lancashire. Joined the army on his 19th birthday. Wounded in the left groin by a sniper’s bullet on 31/07/1917.
