Husband of Phoebe Collier Marshall (nee Berry), of 415, Old Fold, Walkden, Lancashire. Had previously served in the 1st Bn., Lancashire Fusiliers, and had purchased his discharge. Attached 8th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.

Marshall, Herbert –

Of 30, Edgemont Avenue, Bolton, Lancashire. Caught aged 41 as a deserter from Preston since 06/11/1914 and a again as a deserter from Aldershot since 09/07/1915. Appeared before Bolton Magistrates 20/11/1914 and 23/08/1915 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/25 & JBO/1/26).

Of 15, Reynolds Court, Bolton, Lancashire. Caught aged 35 as an absentee from Aldershot since 19/09/1915 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 23/09/1915 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/26).

Son of Thomas and Ada H. Marshall, of 93, Valletts Lane, Ivy Road, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 24, Milo Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted August / September 1914.

Marshall, Thomas Collier –

Son of Henry and Phoebe Collier Marshall (nee Berry), of 66, Elliott Street, Walkden, Lancashire. Reported to be the youngest soldier in the army in 1914 at 14 years of age, having already served for 2 years. Played tenor horn in the Regimental band. Home service only. Died aged 25 years in September 1925 at Sheffield Royal Infirmary from tuberculosis. Interred at Walkden (St. Paul) Chuchyard.

Husband of Mrs. Marshall, of 11, Croston Street, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly a tram conductor for the Bolton Corporation Tramways Department. Enlisted September 1914.

Son of the late Francis and Mary Ann Marshall; husband of Millicent Marshall (nee Baron), of 71, Astley Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Lost at sea when the transport ship Transylvania was torpedoed.
