Caught aged 20 as an absentee from Felixstowe since 23/12/1915 and aged 23 from Felixstowe since 25/06/1918 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 18/01/1916 and 04/07/1918 to be sent back to his unit under escort. Ash, Joseph –

Husband of Harriet Ash (nee Bent), of 27, Chatsworth Street, Walkden, Lancashire. Enlisted 1914. Suffered valvular disease of the heart. Died 15/05/1922 aged 39 years and interred at St. Paul’s Churchyard, Walkden on 20/05/1922.
