Son of Alfred and Rebecca Altoft, of Shooters Grove, Astley, Lancashire. Born at Garston.

Collier, Walter –

Son of William and Ellen Collier, of 139, Harrowby Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Attached Royal Indian Navy. Served in Mesopotamia.

Crawshaw, William Douglas –

Son of William and Gladys Elizabeth Crawshaw, of 19, Deansgate, Bolton, Lancashire. A wireless telegraphist, presumed drowned at sea while in actual naval service when ship sunk.

Geddes, William Bruce –

Son of James and Jessie Bruce Geddes, of Govan, Lanarkshire. Husband of Florence Geddes (nee Rosser), of 43, Bundoran Road, Aigburth, Liverpool. One of eleven of the fourteen crew aboard to perish when the vessel was torpedoed without warning and sunk by a German submarine UB-75.

Hughes, John Thomas –

Son of Dinah Hughes, of 23, Barton Grove, Patricroft, Lancashire, and the late Edward Hughes.

Isherwood, Tom Pendlebury –

Son of Thomas Kearsley Isherwood and Margaret Alice Isherwood, of 208, Crescent Road, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Memorial in Lever Bridge (St. Stephen and all Martyrs) Churchyard.

Keel, Robert Richard Dutton –

Son of Francis William Keel and the late Sarah Keel; husband of Gladys Keel (nee Garner), of 101, Liverpool Road, Cadishead, Lancashire.

Kelsall, Charles Henry –

Son of James Edwin and the late Clara Kelsall; husband of Zillah Adeline Kelsall (nee Jones), of 53, Wright Street, Hull, Yorkshire, and formerly of Horwich, Lancashire. Previously employed at the Horwich Loco Works. Served in the South African Campaign as a Trooper in the Duke of Lancaster’s Own Yeomanry. Drowned when his vessel was torpedoed in the Mediterranean.

Malpus (Farrell), Joseph –

NOTE:- Served as FARRELL. Son of Joseph Henry and Clara Jane Malpus, of 246, Ordsall Lane, Salford, Lancashire.

Marchment, Edward –

Son of Robert and Elizabeth Marchment (nee Clay), of 10, Dunscar Fold, Dunscar, Turton, Lancashire.

Markland, Louis Gordon –

Son of the late David and Sarah Markland; husband of Annie Markland (nee Spooner), of 71, Adeline Street, Newport, Monmouthshire.
