Day, Geoffrey –

Son of Ellen Day and stepson of James Lee, of Swinton, Lancashire. Nicknamed “Happy”.

Deas, John Maurice –

Son of Robert and Lizzie Deas, of Lower Broughton, Salford, Lancashire. Formerly Private 1682, 6th Bn., Manchester Regiment.

Dixon, James Eric –

Son of the late Rev. James Dixon, a Wesleyan minister, and Mrs. Dixon, of 98, Bramhall Lane, Stockport, Cheshire. Of 270, Rishton Lane, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. An old Boy of Bolton Grammar School (1902-1909). Formerly Birmingham Bn., Royal Warwickshire Regiment., commissioned Second Lieutenant in December 1914. Promoted Lieutenant September 1915. Wounded in the head, right arm and legs by bombs in early 1916. Formerly 8th Bn., South Staffs Regiment until transfer to Royal Air Force 01/04/1918.

Son of Dr. James Crompton Eames, the Medical Officer to the Kearsley District Council, and Florence Eames, of Barnfield House, Stoneclough, Lancashire. An old boy of the Bolton Grammar School (1901-1905). Formerly a mechanical engineer at Horwich Loco Works. Enlisted September 1914. Formerly Sapper 45759, 68th Company, Royal Engineers. Commissioned Second Lieutenant 24/10/1916, Manchester Regiment.

Edge, Frank –

Son of Thomas and Hannah Edge, of Tonge Moor, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Royal Flying Corps, transferred to 89th Squadron Royal Air Force 01/04/1918. Served in France and later Afghanistan. Oral History reminiscences held by Bolton Local Studies.

Son of Thomas and Catherine Fattorini, of Rockwood, Skipton, Yorkshire. Formerly of 19, Knowsley Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Second Lieutenant, Royal Flying Corps. Transferred to Royal Air Force on formation 01/04/1918. Posted missing 13/08/1918 and subsequently confirmed killed.
