Mann, Charles –

Of 32, Horatio Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Caught aged 38 as an absentee from Eastchurch since 18/04/1918 and from Salt Pans Camp, Sandwich, Kent since 03/09/1918 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 22/04/1918 and 30/09/1918 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/29).

Son of Robert and Elizabeth Marchment, of 62, Everton Street, Bolton, Lancashire; formerly of 10, Dunscar Fold, Dunscar, Turton and 4, Rossini Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Originally enlisted January 1915 as Rifleman R/9686, 9th Bn., King’s Royal Rifle Corps, wounded in the right hand 14/08/1915 and discharged 20/04/1916 as no longer physically fit. Re-enlisted and caught aged 25 as an absentee from France since 10/09/1918 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 12/09/1918 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/29).
