McCoy, James –

Husband of Mrs. McCoy, of 20, Weymouth Street, Halliwell, Bolton, Lancashire. Previously served eight years with the South Lancashire Regiment, including the South African Campaign. Formerly employed as a labourer at the Bolton Corporation’s Lum Street Gasworks. Reported missing since 25/09/1915 and subsequently presumed killed.

McDonald, Edward –

Of 19a, Francis Street, Platt Bridge, Wigan, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1915.

McElroy, William –

Husband of Phoebe Martha McElroy, of 15, Greenall Street, Warrington, Lancashire. Service number incorrectly recorded as 17109 on SDGW.

McKay, Charles –

Of 11, Churchbank, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 20, Euxton Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted April 1915. Caught aged 17 as a deserter from Thornton since 25/09/1915 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 16/10/1915 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/26).
