Son of John and Sarah Ellen Roberts, of 19, Perth Street, Heyside, Shaw, Lancashire. Formerly 12630, King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment.

Robinson, John –

Son of John and Sarah Robinson (Stepmother), of 128, Schofield Road, Hopwood, Lancashire.

Rogerson, Henry –

Son of John H. and Esther Rogerson, of 541, Tonge Moor Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed by the Bolton Corporation. Enlisted April 1915. Fatally hit by shrapnel during a retirement.

Roughley, John –

Of 35, Garden Place, Mold, Flintshire. Caught aged 20 as an absentee from Great Crosby since 07/01/1916 and appeared before Bolton Magistrates 01/02/1916 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/26).

Rumbelow, Thomas –

Son of Thomas and Elizabeth Anne Rumbelow, of Salford, Lancashire; husband of Beatrice Rumbelow, of Seedley, Salford, Lancashire.

Rushton, Thomas –

Son of Mr. Silas Rushton, of 108, Ellesmere Street, Farnworth, Lancashire; husband of Mrs. Rushton, a nurse working in a Yorkshire hospital. Previously served 17 years as a regular with the South Lancashire Regiment.

Sanders, Joseph –

Son of Mrs. Sanders, of 5, Randal Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Of 25, Apple Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Died at 38th Casualty Clearing Station.

Saville, Henry –

Of 19, Hanover Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Caught as an absentee from Thornton since 07/04/1916 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 17/04/1916 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/27).
