Vickers, Thomas –

Of 15, Coe Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Caught aged 24 as an absentee from Aldershot since 22/07/1918 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 29/07/1918 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/29).

Wadsworth, Samuel –

Son of Mrs. Wadsworth, of 130, Manchester Road, Walkden, Lancashire. A member of the machine gun section. Wounded in January 1917 by gunshot in the abdomen, and again in May 1918 by shell shrapnel in the right foot.

Walmsley, Herbert –

Son of Mr and Mrs Walmsley, of 10, Bradshaw Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted March 1915. Brother Joe in the 6th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment in Salonika.

Walsh, James –

Of 127, Bridgewater Road, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted April 1915. Killed by the same shell which also killed H Walmsley and W Gerrard.

Watson, Peter Henry –

Son of Peter and Katherine Watson; husband of Margaret Watson (nee Hennaghan), of 74, Kirk Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly of 84, Mason Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Home service only. Died from a cerebral absess at Fazackerley Military Hospital, Liverpool following a period of treatment at the Red Cross Hospital, Winchester.

Whalley, Alfred –

White, Jack Clayton –

Son of Mrs. White, of 1a, Palatine Road, Blackpool, Lancashire, and stepson of the late Mr. J. Hartshorn White, of 21, Hilden Street, Haulgh, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed in the electrical department of the Bolton Gas Offices. Enlisted March 1915. Killed a piece of a shell which burst at the roadside.
