Hampson, Arthur –

Youngest son of John and Mary Hampson, of 8, Enfield Street, Worsley Road, Little Hulton, Lancashire. Enlisted October 1915.

Hardman, Francis –

Son of Peter and Sarah Ann Hardman, of 42, Venture Street, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Sarah Alice Hardman (nee Pickvance), of 215, Lever Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 15, Hurst Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Previously a tram driver on the Brownlow Fold route, he went to the front on 01/10/1916, being wounded on 01/12/1917 necessitating amputation of the right arm. His name is on the Roll of Honour at St. Mark’s Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher. Left a wife and child at 28, Rishton Lane, Bolton, Lancashire.

Of 34, Cecil Street, Walkden, Lancashire. Reported since 18/09/1914 missing and subsequently presumed dead.

Of 8, Dagmar Street, Walkden, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1915. Name recorded as A HAROLD in the local newspaper (F&WJ).

Son of David and Martha E. Healey, of 85, Cambridge Street, Atherton, Lancashire.

Hill, Sidney –

Son of John and Margaret Anna Hill, of 136, Eskrick Street, Halliwell, Bolton, Lancashire. Fought at Gallipoli, and wounded 01/07/1916 at The Somme. Died from a gunshot wound penetrating the liver. Second of two sons to be killed. Incorrectly recorded as Rifle Brigade. on the Bolton County Borough Roll of Honour.

Hird, Herbert –

Son of John and Mary A. Hird, of 753, Bury Road, Breightmet, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Elizabeth Hird (nee Rothwell), of 20, Hind Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly 8109, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Died 22/08/1918 on the SS Palmella when it was torpedoed by German submarine en-route to Portugal.

Son of James and Jane Isherwood, of 258, Leigh Road, Atherton, Lancashire, and formerly resided at 53, Mount Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly an employee of the South Lancashire Tramways Company. Enlisted January 1916.
