Son of Job and Mary Jane Hough, of 5, Wheatfield Street, Haulgh, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Municipal Secondary School. Formerly Sergeant 707, Australian Imperial Forces. Commissioned 19/08/1916. Killed by a shell during a fierce bombardment.

Only son of Robert and Sarah Howarth, of 32, Bengarth Street, Southport, Lancashire, formerly of 452, Chorley Old Road, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Municipal Secondary School.

Humphrys, Thomas George Oliver –

Son of Pensioner Sergeant Robert John (Royal Field Artillery) and Esther Ann Humphrys, of Burnwithian Avenue, St. Day, Truro, Cornwall. Formerly resided at “Glenmore”, 306, Crescent Road, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Eleven years service, served in India.

Only son of Mrs. Betsy Kirkman, of 38, Heywood Street, Little Lever, Lancashire, and formerly of 1, Lord Street, Little Lever, Lancashire. Enlisted December 1915. Posted missing since 10/10/1917 and subsequently confirmed killed by a sniper’s bullet.

Lomax, Henry –

Second son of Robert and Elizabeth Lomax (nee Smith), of 29, Malvern Avenue, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 4, Birmingham Street, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Municipal Secondary School. Originally reported as missing, subsequently confirmed killed. Brother Robert served in the Royal Army Medical Corps. Also recorded as Harry.

Only son of Robert and Ann Lowe, of Daisy Hill, Westhoughton, Lancashire; husband of Esther Annie Lowe (nee Lowe), of Victoria House, Church Street, Westhoughton, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Municipal Secondary School. Enlisted December 1914.

Martin, Harry –

Son of Mr. Jesse Martin, and husband of Mrs. Mary Martin, of 25, Darley Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Municipal Secondary School. Formerly 25088, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment; formerly Suffolk Regiment. Died when the transport ship Arcadian was torpedoed in the Mediterranean en-route to Egypt.
