Eldest of four soldier sons of John and Mary Fisher, of 280, Deane Church Lane, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Anne Ellen Fisher (nee Brough), of 5, St. Ann Street, Halliwell Road, Bolton, Lancashire. His brothers John (Jack) and Matthew also fell.

Son of John and Mary Fisher, of 280, Deane Church Lane, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Sarah Ann Fisher (nee Urmston), of 28, Thomas Street, Bolton, Lancashire. His brothers Albert and Matthew also fell.

Fisher, Joseph –

Son of John and Ann Fisher, of Atherton, Lancashire; husband of Mary Ellen Fisher (nee Gill), of 35, Hollins Road, Middle Hulton, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly of 6, Gas Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Previously Private 11192, 6th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Caught aged 28 as a deserter from Tidsworth since 13/10/1914 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 24/10/1914 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/25). Re-enlisted December 1914. Caught aged 29 as an absentee from The Castle, Carlisle since 06/01/1915 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 08/01/1915 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/25). Formerly well known locally as a wrestler and weight lifter.

Fisher, Matthew –

Son of John and Mary Fisher, of 280, Deane Church Lane, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Alice Fisher, of Tonge Moor, Bolton, Lancashire. His brothers Albert and John also fell. Served with the Border Regiment. in the South African Campaign.

Fishwick, Thomas –

Son of the late Edward and of Ellen Fishwick (nee Massey), of 39, Victoria Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted in 1914. Posted missing since 09/08/1915 in the Dardanelles and subsequently presumed killed.

Flanagan, Thomas –

Son of the late Patrick Flanagan and of Honora (Norah) Flanagan (nee Woods), of 9, Royal Row, Crook Street, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Phoebe Ann Flanagan (nee Leigh), of 1, Whitaker Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Died at Malta of dysentery contracted in Gallipoli.

Foster, Roland –

Son of the late Thomas Foster, and of Ann Catherine Foster (nee Jones), of 23, Southern Street, Brownlow Fold, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly a crane driver in the employ of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company at Horwich Loco Works. His twin brother John was wounded in service.

Fox, James –

Son of Peter and Ellen Fox; husband of Jane Fox (nee Brown), of 48, Ainscow Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly of 31, Craddock Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed at the Lum Street Gas Works. Enlisted January 1915. Reported missing at Gallipoli and subsequently presumed killed.

Gill, Stanley –

Son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Gill. Brother of Mr. William Gill, of 19, Leicester Street, Horwich, Lancashire. Formerly an apprentice boilermaker at Horwich Loco Works. Formerly 43872, Royal Army Medical Corps.

Glazebrook, William –

Son of the late William Glazebrook and of Mary Ellen Glazebrook, of Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Elizabeth Ann Glazebrook (nee Horrocks), of 22, Northern Grove, Chorley Old Road, Bolton, Lancashire.

Glennerster, Wright –

Son of Frederick William and Margaret Glennerster, of 2, The Avenue, Westhoughton, Lancashire. Formerly of Rownthorne Farm, Daisy Hill, Westhoughton, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1915. He died to save 5 companions during a bombardment.

Green, Victor Collins –

Son of the late Joseph Collins, orphaned when only five years old, he was taken out of the Fishpool Institution by Mr. Samuel Scowcroft, of Higher Barn Farm, Harwood, Turton, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1915. Formerly Driver, Royal Field Artillery.
