Denton, James Edmund –

Son of the late Joseph and the late Edna Denton (nee Howarth), of 28, Bury Old Road, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 68, Windley Street, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Annie Denton (nee Lord), of 81, Morris Green Lane, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed as a guard on the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway. Reported missing and subsequently presumed killed.

Derbyshire, Robert –

Son of Thomas and Louisa Gertrude Derbyshire (nee Walker), of 32, Grecian Street, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted September 1914. Died of wounds (gunshot wound to head) at No.11 Casualty Clearing Station, “W” Beach.

Dolan, James –

Son of Richard Armistead Dolan, of 29, Bentinck Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire, and the late Sarah Ellen Dolan (nee Grimshaw); stepson of Mary Jane Dolan (formerly Flitcroft). Formerly employed as a shoemaker at Stockport. Enlisted September 1914.

Duckworth, Robert –

Husband of Mrs. Duckworth, of 21, Victor Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed at Bessemers’ Forge.

Dunion (Smith), Hugh (Harry) –

NOTE:- Served as Harry SMITH. Son of the late James and Murdena Dunion, of 1, Bank Street, Blackley, Manchester, Lancashire. Previously enlisted at Manchester 18/08/1914 as Private 3295, Hugh Dunion, born Renfrew, Renfrewshire into the 9th Bn., Lancashire Fusiliers. Discharged 22/10/1914 as not likely to become an efficient soldier. Subsequently re-enlisted under false name as recorded.

Son of Robert and Margaret Durning (nee Grice), of 18, Grendon Street, Morris Green Lane, Bolton, Lancashire. Reported missing from Gallipoli 09/08/1915 and subsequently presumed killed.

Edwardson, Norman –

Son of Thomas and Ann Edwardson (nee Halliday), of 8, St. James Street, Daisy Hill, Westhoughton, Lancashire. Enlisted into the 3rd Bn., Border Regiment. Contracted dysentery in Gallipoli and died in hospital in Malta.
