Brother of Mrs. Albert Whittle, of 11, Turton Road, Bradshaw, Turton, Lancashire. Reported missing since 08/08/1916 and subsequently presumed killed.

Crossley, Herbert –

Of 553, Tonge Moor Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Caught influenza while home on leave, but it was thought this was aggravated by a gun-shot wound in the head he had recently sustained.

Son of John Edwin and Dorothy Agnes Grime, of 646, Tonge Moor Road, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of the Bolton Church Institute (1903). Successfully enlisted August 1915 on his fourth attempt.

Hamer, Frank –

Son of the late Henry and Alice Hamer, of Bradshaw, Turton, Lancashire. Of 15, Bradshaw Road, Bromley Cross, Turton, Lancashire. Died from multiple shell wounds in St. John’s Hospital at Etaples.

Hargreaves, James –

Husband of Jane Hargreaves (nee Singleton), of 274, Turton Road, Bradshaw, Turton, Lancashire. Enlisted April 1916. Formerly Private 4013, 4th Bn., King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment. Suffered frostbite, February 1917. Wounded 20/09/1917.

Haslam, Alfred –

Son of Robert and Mary Haslam, of 73, Turton Road, Bradshaw, Turton, Lancashire. Formerly 24432, Reserve Regiment of Cavalry. Reported wounded and in hospital in May 1918. Two brothers serving, both wounded, one in Mesopotamia and one in Ireland.

Son of Jesse and Alice Holt, of 111, Turton Road, Bradshaw, Lancashire. Of 7, Thompson Street, Seddon, Victoria, Australia. Injured accidentally in left arm 06/08/1918. Died at 7th Casualty Clearing Station, France, from multiple accidental injuries to the leg and back.
