Son of John Charles and Elizabeth Ellen Ranoe (nee Lindsay), of 14, Mount Pleasant Street, Horwich, Lancashire. Formerly an apprentice fitter at the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company’s Horwich Loco Works. Formerly Private 1630, 1st/4th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Wounded accidentally by gunshot to right hand 11/07/1915. NOTE: Served as JAMES Ranoe.

Son of Mrs. Smith, of 98, Brownlow Road, Horwich, Lancashire. Formerly Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Previously reported as missing from May 1917, subsequently declared as having been killed.

Stones, Robert James –

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stones, of 298, Victoria Road, Horwich, Lancashire. Formerly employed as a draughtsman at Horwich Loco Works. Reported as missing since 15/06/1916 and subsequently presumed killed. Surname reported as STONE in BJ&G.

Taylor, Vernon Ashworth –

Son of John Taylor, of 1, Knowsley Grove, Chorley New Road, Horwich, Lancashire. Formerly employed as a Fitter by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company at Horwich Loco Works. Formerly Private 1629, 4th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Reported wounded and missing 26/10/1917 and subsequently presumed killed.

Son of Samuel and Hannah Thompson, of Oak Villa Farm, Wilderswood, Horwich, Lancashire, and formerly of Old Harper’s Farm, Horwich, Lancashire. Enlisted May 1918. Died of pneumonia in France.

Turner, Walter –

Son of John and Elizabeth Ann Turner, of 7, Washpool, Lostock, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Margaret Ainsworth (formerly Turner, nee O’Donnell), of 22, Fleet Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and later of 46, Virgil Street, Halliwell Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Died of intestinal obstruction and peritonitis at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Netley.
