Eldest son of Agnes Godley, of Ivy Bank, Lumber Lane, Worsley, Lancashire, and the late William Henry Godley. A victim of the sinking of the troopship Royal Edward.

Gooch, Frank –

Son of Mrs. F. Gooch, of Chapmans Place, Kilcot, Newent, Gloucestershire.

Goulding, William –

Son of Mr. T. Goulding, of 11, Campbell Street, Walkden, Lancashire. A brother served in Mesopotamia.

Greenwood, Edwin –

Son of George Albert and Emily Ann Greenwood, of 27, Church Road, Walkden, Lancashire. Formerly employed by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company as a goods department clerk at Oldham Road, Manchester. Enlisted February 1917. Posted missing 06/05/1918 and subsequently presumed killed when “evidently drowned with a dozen or more other men between Ayr and Belfast.” Reported as Gunner in the F&WJ. Body not recovered for burial.

Son of Alfred and Elizabeth Alice Grundy (nee Arden), of 10, Albert Street, Little Hulton, Lancashire. Formerly employed by Burgess, Ledward and Co. at Linnyshaw Mills, Walkden. Enlisted September 1914, two days before his 19th birthday.

Hainey, Edward –

Son of Thomas and Mary Ann Hainey, of 7, Chatsworth Street, Walkden, Lancashire; husband of Beatrice Hainey (nee Marsh), of 35, Bentinck Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1915. Died in 15th General Hospital, Alexandria from dysentery and haemorrhage.
