Younger of two soldiers sons of Mrs. E. Barlow, of 35, Waldeck Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 62, Queensgate, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of Oxford Grove Council School.

Brown, Thomas Mair –

Son of James and Isabella Brown, of 114, Hatfield Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed in the Boot Department of the Bolton Co-Operative Society. Formerly 45898, Lancashire Fusiliers.

Bryce, John (Jack) –

Husband of Ethel Bryce, of 6, Olga Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Attached New Zealand Motor Transport Company, New Zealand Army Service Corps. Died at 64th Casualty Clearing Station (Cologne) from pneumonia.

Son of William and Ann Calderely (nee Holt), of 10, Osborne Grove, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly 16038, 9th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.

Son of Daniel and Mrs. Carson, of 4, Birmingham Street, Brownlow Fold, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Florence Willetts (formerly Carson), of 26, Ruskin Avenue, Moss Side, Manchester, Lancashire, and formerly of 5, Avenue Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and 49, Rawson Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Private 1543, 1st/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Received bullet wound to shoulder 19/06/1915.

Crossland, Richard –

Son of Herbert Crossland. An old boy of Bolton Grammar School (1908-1910). Enlisted September 1914. Reported missing since 20/07/1916 and subsequently presumed killed.

Currie, Allan –

Son of John and Mary Currie, of 5, Kendal Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Reported missing since 11/04/1917 and subsequently presumed killed.

Darricotte, Gilbert Haley –

Son of Jabez and Elizabeth Darricotte, of Clayton, Bradford, Yorkshire, and formerly of Prospect, Sharples, Bolton, Lancashire; husband, of Dorothy Darricotte (nee Crossland), of The Hawthorns, Bredbury, Stockport, Cheshire. An old boy of the Bolton Church Institute. Formerly Private 10569, Inns of Court Officer Training Corps. Commissioned 31/07/1917. Recorded on Bolton County Borough Roll of Honour as 9th Bn., Essex Regiment.

Son of George Edward and Jane Dixon, of 122, Chorley Old Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed as a clerk in the offices of the Bolton Co-Operative Society. Enlisted February 1915.

Eaton, Arthur Wellesley –

Son of the late Edward Eaton, and of Mary Hannah Eaton (nee Allsop), of 41, Deansgate, Bolton, Lancashire. Late of Cranleigh School, Surrey. “Previously reported missing, now Killed in Action. He was instantly killed by enemy fire during operations in the vicinity of Mount Sorrel.” Body not recovered for burial.

Eckersley, Ernest –

Son of William and Emma Eckersley, of 2, Livingstone Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly of 99, Lawn Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly 10th Bn., Border Regiment. Wounded on 10/05/1916 by gunshot to neck, chest and spine. Died at the Norfolk War Hospital.

Son of Mr. Ellis and Annie Ellis, of 68, Victoria Grove, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Private 3905, 2nd/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. A brother served in Italy.

Ellis, Clifford –

Son of Albert Edward and Martha Ellis, of 20, Stanley Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Served as Scout Master for the 11th Bolton Troop. Killed by a shell in France.

Previously employed as a clerk in the Bolton Tramways office. Formerly 8048, Royal Engineers.
