Humphreys, William Frederick –

Son of Mr. W. and Mrs. E. Humphreys, of 35, Lincoln Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Attached 1st Trench Mortar Battery. Reported missing 18/04/1918 and subsequently presumed killed.

Ireland, James –

Son of Mrs. M. E. Ireland, of 121, Lawn Street, Bolton, Lancashire. His twin brother Alfred also served and was wounded.

Isherwood, Albert –

Son of Sarah Isherwood, of 81, Musgrave Road, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late Benjamin Isherwood. Formerly employed as a grocer by Bolton Co-operative Society. Enlisted May 1915. Wounded by a machine gun bullet in the ankle at the Somme in July 1916.

Only son of Richard and Annie Isherwood, of 17, Pemberton Street, Astley Bridge, Bolton, Lancashire. An old boy of Bolton Municipal Secondary School. Formerly Manchester University Officer Training Corps. Gazetted 12/08/1915 to Second Lieutenant, 3rd/6th Bn., Lancashire Fusiliers.

Son of Thomas and Hester H. Isherwood, of 23, Windsor Grove, Chorley Old Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted April 1915. Formerly 18473, South Lancashire Regiment.

Lee, Herbert –

Son of P.C. John Lee and of Elizabeth Lee, of 148, Mornington Road, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 26, Windsor Grove, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted May 1915. Died as a result of gas poisoning from a gas shell on 21/07/1917.

Lever, John (Jack) –

Son of Thomas and Elizabeth Ellen Lever, of 3, Eckersley Road, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 53, Knowsley Street, Smithills, Bolton, Lancashire. At time of death he was attached to the 19th Bn. of the Royal Fusiliers (City of London) Regiment., hence the double entry in the Bolton County Borough Roll of Honour.
