Elliott, Fred –

Of 7, Bright Street, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 25, Lilford Street, Howe Bridge, Atherton, Lancashire. Enlisted aged 16. Posted missing since 21/03/1918 and subsequently presumed killed.

Entwistle, John James –

Next of kin recorded as Nina Margretta Entwistle, of 48, Willows Lane, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly a Locomotive Fireman with previous service in the Territorials. Circumstances of death: “Whilst in charge of an evacuation party during an attack in the vicinity of Olive Trench, Vis-en-Artois, about 3 o’clock on the afternoon of August 28th 1918, he was attending a wounded man, when he was struck in the left lung by an enemy machine gun bullet and instantly killed.”

Fletcher, John (Jack) –

Son of John and Isabella Fletcher, of 17, Croston Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted October 1915. Formerly 4801, King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment. Reported missing sonce 20/11/1917 in France and subsequently presumed killed. Second son to be killed.

Fletcher, Thomas –

Son of the late Mrs. Ester Fletcher; husband of Mary Worsley (formerly Fletcher), of 47, Bella Street, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire and formerly of 24, Whitby Street, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire. A reservist, wounded in the head by shell shrapnel on Monday 19/04/1915.

Flitcroft, Samuel –

Son of Joseph and Ann Flitcroft, of 74, Blackledge Street, St. Helens Road, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 12, Isabel Street, Bolton, Lancashire.

Fox, Percy –

Husband of Mrs. Fox, of 3, Rumworth Street, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company as a porter at the Goods yard. Formerly Private 4507, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Wounded in the arm 09/08/1916. Reported missing July 1917 and subsequently presumed killed.

Son of John and Annie Gregory, of 38, Blackledge Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly of 14, Hunt Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted June 1915. Formerly Private 56, 1st/12th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Caught aged 18 as an absentee from 1st/12th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment at Lytham since 28/01/1916 and 05/02/1916 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 31/01/1916 and 07/02/1916 to be sent back to his unit under escort. Hadfield, James –

Son of Robert and Nancy Hadfield, of 230, St. Helens Road, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Mrs. Hadfield (nee Warbrick), of 17, Thorn Street, Bolton, Lancashire. One of 48 St. John Ambulance men who left Bolton for Tipperary on 29/11/1915. One of the survivors of the Arcadian, torpedoed on 15/04/1918. Died of Typhus in Jerusalem. Five brothers also served.

Hall, Charles Henry –

Fourth son of Charles and Jane Hall, of 67, Willows Lane, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted October 1914. Wounded 09/08/1916.
