Son of William and Rachel Kendall, of Lenora Street, Deane, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Bertha Kendall, of 19, Alice Street, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Previous service of 5 years with the Lancashire Fusiliers. Died of wounds at No.22 General Hospital, Dannes, Camiers.

Son of Mr. and Mrs. Kirkman, of 67, Junction Road, Deane, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Sarah Ann Kirkman, of 11, Turner Street, Daisy Hill, Westhoughton, Lancashire, formerly of 7, Adelaide Street, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1915 from 5, Horsefield Street, Deane, Bolton, Lancashire.

Laughna, James –

Son of Thomas and Rebecca Laughna, of 421, Wigan Road, Deane, Bolton, Lancashire. Wounded in the back in an accident on 16/06/1916.

Lindsay, Henry (Harry) –

Son of Joseph and Frances Lindsay, of Dene Mount, 212, Wigan Road, Bolton, Lancashire. M.A. An old boy of Bolton Grammar School (1902-1905). Gazetted Second Lieutenant, 4th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment in September 1914, promoted Lieutenant 17/07/1915 and to Captain 10/10/1915. Shot through the head and instantly killed.

Only son of the Rev. J. R. Line and Emily Line, of Deane Vicarage, Bolton, Lancashire. Educated at Oundle School and Downing College, Cambridge.

Livesey, Peter –

Son of Mrs. Livesey, of 19, Rosebery Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted May 1916. Died at the Southern Hospital, Oxford.

Lucas, Thomas –

Son of Joseph Leonard and Mary Jane Lucas, of 8, Platt Hill Avenue, Deane, Bolton, Lancashire.

Melling, Walter –

Son of Elizabeth Melling, of King’s Head Hotel, Junction Road, Deane, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late James Melling. Enlisted January 1916. Died from gunshot wounds whilst working as a stretcher bearer in the act of rescuing some chums who were in difficulties.

Middlehurst, William –

Husband of Bertha Middlehurst, of 27, Caledonia Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Wounded on 11/04/1917 and died the following month.

Son of Odadiah and Ann Norcross (nee Moulding), of 21, Mercia Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly employed at Horwich Loco Works. Reported missing since 09/08/1915 and subsequently presumed killed.

Husband of Jane Parkinson, of 12, Annis Road, Deane, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly 37060, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. One of four brothers to serve in the Army.

Son of Richard and Emily Pasquill, of 524, St. Helens Road, Daubhill, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted April 1916. Formerly 1968, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.
