Formerly employed by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company at Trinity Street Station as foreman cleaner in the carriage and wagon department. A member of the Bolton Corps of the St. John Ambulance Brigade. Seriously wounded 17/05/1915 resulting in both feet being amputated. Died at the military hospital in Alexandria, Egypt.
