Husband of Mary Jane Carney (nee Mooney), of 31, Kent Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Formerly of 201, Bridgewater Street, Farnworth, Lancashire. Originally enlisted at Bolton as Private 20667 in the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment 26/04/1915 and discharged as not likely to become an efficient soldier 28/04/1915. Subsequently re-enlisted at Lower Broughton as 3963, Lancashire Fusiliers in July 1915.
