Enlisted January 1915. Formerly 3646, 2nd/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Caught aged 27 as an absentee from Oxted since 02/08/1915 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 24/08/1915 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/26). Killed by an exploding shell.
