Son of Henry and Betsy Ann Kay (nee Lomax), of 1a, Wapping Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted in January 1915 as a Private in the King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment. Subsequently re-enlisted April 1915. Formerly ranked as Pioneer, later as Sapper. Possible death aged 26 in 1923 at Farnworth, and interrment at Bolton (Astley Bridge) Cemetery on 01/09/1923 in grave CE. 2. L. 22.
