Caught aged 19 as an absentee from Shoeburyness since 12/01/1915 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 19/01/1915 to be sent back to his unit under escort. (Bolton Archives: JBO/1/25). Posted missing since 01/07/1916 and subsequently presumed killed.
