Previously worked for the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Company at Trinity Street Station. Served at Jutland. Died when the ship blew up at anchor in Scapa Flow due to faulty ammunition. Brother Thomas with the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment in France.
