Williams, Thomas –

Son of Mr. and Mrs Williams, of 21, Morris Green Lane, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted January 1915 as Private 3948, 1st/5th Bn., Seaforth Highlanders. Transferred to the tunnellers in November 1915. Served at Vimy Ridge and Arras.

Williams, Thomas Frederick –

Son of the late Squire and Sarah Alice Williams, of 31, Auburn Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Presumed killed whilst repairing barbed wire entanglements.

Williams, J S –

Eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Williams, of 66, Viking Street, Great Lever, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Mrs. Williams, of 9, Back Darwen Road, Bromley Cross, Turton, Lancashire. Formerly employed by the Tyldesley District Council. Mistakenly reported as killed, subsequently confirmed wounded when his dug-out was blown up and in hospital. Formerly Corporal, Royal Engineers. Commissioned 1918 for good work under heavy fire while serving in Egypt. Attached to the Egyptian Labour Corps.

Williamson, Frederic Herbert –

Eldest son of the late George and Ann Williamson, formerly of Ringley, Lancashire. Of Wolverton, Egmont Road, Sutton, Surrey. Formerly a senior clerk in the Post Office. Director of postal services during WWI. Later Brigadier-General Sir Frederick Herbert Williamson, C.B., C.B.E.

Son of Mr. Williamson, of 343, Manchester Road, Whittlebrook, Walkden, Lancashire. Enlisted October 1915.

Willis, Daniel –

Of 14, Downing Street, Ardwick, Manchester. Formerly a joiner and undertaker of Rishton Lane, Bolton, Lancashire.

Willows, Robinson –

Husband of Ellen Willows, of 53, Snowden Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Private 17396, York and Lancaster Regiment.

Wilson, Peter –

Formerly 2876, Royal Irish Rifles. Accidentally killed in a fall of roof at Pendlebury Colliery.

Wilson, Thomas –

Of 3, Hudson Court, Kay Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted February 1915, Welsh Regiment. Caught aged 46 as an absentee from the (Private 82726) Machine Gun Corps at Bordon, Hampshire since 13/03/1917 and aged 47 as an absentee from (Sapper 270380) Royal Engineers at Bordon, Hampshire since 12/02/1918 appearing before Bolton Magistrates 22/03/1917 and 19/02/1918 to be sent back to his unit under escort.
