Dawson, Fred –

Son of Thomas and Sarah E. Dawson, of 257, Lee Lane, Horwich, Lancashire, and formerly of Wright Street, Horwich, Lancashire. Joined up November 1917. Formerly 10187, Royal Flying Corps. Died from wounds received to the right leg and left thigh, and subsequent internal bleeding.

Day, Hubert Victor –

Son of Rev. John and Caroline Rushton Day (nee Daintree), of 34, Ruabon Street, Wrexham, Denbighshire, and formerly of 30, Wellesley Road, Colchester, Essex. His father, the Rev. John Day was formerly Wesleyan minister in Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Private 3040, 7th Bn., London Regiment. Wounded 25/09/1915 at Loos. Commissioned 26/01/1916. recommended for the Military Cross for special work on the Aisne.

Edge, William Henry (Harry) –

Son of Clara Townson (formerly Edge), of Holywood, Smithills, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late Joseph Edge; nephew of Knowles Edge, Mayor of Bolton 1916-1918. An old boy of Bolton Grammar School (1907-08). Reported missing since 20/07/1916 and subsequently presumed killed.

Only son of George Rowland Ellis and Ellen Ellis, of Worsley, Lancashire. Born at Beccles, Suffolk. Volunteered in 1915. Was in France only 17 days.
