Of 297, Leigh Road, Westhoughton, Lancashire. Report claims “His head was blown off in the Dardanelles”.

Reddy, Matthew –

Son of Winifred D. Reddy, of 8, Slater Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late John Reddy. Served eight years and five months in the Army, six years in India. Death date given as 14/05/1915 in BJ&G.

Ribchester, Frederick –

Son of John and Annie Ribchester (nee Aaron), of 11, Short Street, Moses Gate, Farnworth, Lancashire. Reported wounded and later as missing.

Richards, Edward Henry –

Son of Thomas Richards; husband of Mary Richards, of 19, Francis Street, Belle Green Lane, Higher Ince, Wigan, Lancashire. Enlisted March 1915.

Rothwell, Ellis –

Of 1, Markland Square, Farnworth, Lancashire. Two brothers served and were wounded.

Rynn, Joseph Leo –

Son of Thomas and Mary Jane Rynn, of 15, School Street, Bury, Lancashire. Recorded as Leo Rynn on SDGW.

Scholfield, Richard Denham –

Son of Emma Denham Scholfield, of “Ingarsley”, Warwick Road, Hale, Cheshire, and the late Frank Scholfield. An old boy of Rivington and Blackrod Grammar School. Worked for Salford Corporation Town Clerics Department.

Scott, James –

Son of James and Margaret Scott (nee Duffy), of Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Annie Scott (nee Blackburn), of 20, Hewitt Street, Great Lever, Bolton. Served in the South African Campaign. Formerly worked as a postman. Severely wounded at Marne. Reported missing since action at Gallipoli on 10/06/1915 and subsequently confirmed as having been killed.

Husband of Sarah Jane Seeler (formerly Cotterell nee Peart), of 9, Hengist Street, Tonge Fold, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted December 1914.

Selkirk, Robert –

Son of the late Charles Selkirk and of Betsy Selkirk (nee Walker); husband of Mary Ann Selkirk (nee Smith), of 13, Tyson Street, Deane Road, Bolton, Lancashire; brother of Mrs. Gaskell, of 65, Parrot Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted November 1914. Reported wounded and missing, and subsequently officially regarded as killed. Wrongly recorded as Rifle Brigade on Bolton County Borough Roll of Honour.
