Wounded in head by shrapnel and admitted to base hospital 26/05/1916. Died aged 26 years in September 1922 and interred in Horwich (Holy Trinity) Churchyard 20/09/1922.

He returned safely to our own lines, but was shortly afterwards killed by a “Rum Jar” shell.
