Noake, Alfred –

Son of Joseph and Elizabeth Noake. Formerly 23926, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.

Partington, Allan –

Son of Alice Partington, of 1, Milo Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late James Partington. Formerly 1938, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Died from the effect of gas and burns received five days earlier. Brother served in the Royal Field Artillery.

Penrose, Robert Morforth –

Eldest son of Thomas and Margaret Penrose, of Oxford Street, Thompson Estate, South Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, and formerly of Chorley Old Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Previously served as a ship’s steward in the Royal Australian Navy Reserve. Formerly 9th Bn., Australian Imperial Forces. Killed instantly by a shot in the forehead from a sniper at Messines Ridge.

Preston, Alexander –

Son of the late Mr. Joseph John Preston, of 16, Crosby Road, Bolton, Lancashire. First reported as wounded, then as wounded and missing, and subsequently confirmed killed.

Reynolds, Norman –

Son of Mrs. S. A. Reynolds, of 15, Windsor Grove, Chorley Old Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted February 1916.

Reynolds, Harry Edward –

Son of John and Mrs. Reynolds, of 152, Hatfield Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted November 1915. Reported as wounded and missing since an engagement of 26/08/1916, and subsequently presumed killed.

Roberts, Robert –

Son of John and Mary Roberts, of 31, Lilly Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 39, Oxford Grove, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly 1266, 1st/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Wounded in the right wrist by shrapnel September 1915. Listed as serving at the time of death with the 6th (King’s Shropshire Light Infantry) Bn., Herefordshire Regiment.

Roscow, William Fielding –

Son of William and Harriet Roscow, of 68, Elgin Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Died at the 44th Casualty Clearing Station, Cologne, from pneumonia.

Seddon, Albert –

Son of Ann Jane Seddon, of 34, Horatio Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late John Seddon. Formerly 3891, Westmorland and Cumberland Yeomanry.

Shaw, Robert –

Son of George and Emily Shaw, of 11, France Street, Victory, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Private 4202, King’s Own Royal Lancaster Regiment. Reported missing since 08/08/1916 and subsequently presumed killed. Reported as P Shaw in BJ&G.

Shortle, Frank –

Son of Nicholas and Augusta Shortle, of 21, Shipton Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly 87162, King’s Liverpool Regiment. Died at a casualty clearning station of wounds.

Son of Elizabeth Southern, of 148, Oxford Grove, Bolton, Lancashire. Brother Jack served in France.

Stones, Gilbert –

Husband of E. Stones, of 61, Rosamond Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Killed a the sudden burst of shell fire.

Taylor, Frank –

Son of Richard and Rebecca Taylor, of 15, Turk Street, Bolton, Lancashire.

Town, John –

Son of Edwin and Emma Town, of 40, Bashall Street, Bolton, Lancashire.

Vickers, Percy –

Son of Henrietta Vickers, of 313, Deane Church Lane, Deane, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late William Vickers. Enlisted February 1917. Wounded 01/08/1917.

Walton, Robert –

Son of William Walton, of 10, Canada Street, Bolton, Lancashire; husband of Annie Walton, of 10, Darley Street, Brownlow Fold, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly Lance Corporal 3921, 2nd/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Played in a football match in October 1916 against a team from the 2nd/10th Bn., King’s Liverpool Regiment. Reported missing since 09/07/1917 and subsequently presumed killed.

Warburton, Benjamin –

Son of George William Warburton, of 18, Battenburg Road, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late Lizzie A. Warburton. Enlisted October 1915. Formerly Private 7419, 4th/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Duplicated entry in Bolton Roll of Honour under 1st/5th Bn.
