Partington, Allan –

Son of Alice Partington, of 1, Milo Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and the late James Partington. Formerly 1938, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Died from the effect of gas and burns received five days earlier. Brother served in the Royal Field Artillery.

Penrose, Robert Morforth –

Eldest son of Thomas and Margaret Penrose, of Oxford Street, Thompson Estate, South Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, and formerly of Chorley Old Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Previously served as a ship’s steward in the Royal Australian Navy Reserve. Formerly 9th Bn., Australian Imperial Forces. Killed instantly by a shot in the forehead from a sniper at Messines Ridge.

Son of the late Mr. Joseph John Preston, of 16, Crosby Road, Bolton, Lancashire. First reported as wounded, then as wounded and missing, and subsequently confirmed killed.

Reynolds, Harry Edward –

Son of John and Mrs. Reynolds, of 152, Hatfield Road, Bolton, Lancashire. Enlisted November 1915. Reported as wounded and missing since an engagement of 26/08/1916, and subsequently presumed killed.

Roberts, Robert –

Son of John and Mary Roberts, of 31, Lilly Street, Bolton, Lancashire, and formerly of 39, Oxford Grove, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly 1266, 1st/5th Bn., Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. Wounded in the right wrist by shrapnel September 1915. Listed as serving at the time of death with the 6th (King’s Shropshire Light Infantry) Bn., Herefordshire Regiment.

Son of William and Harriet Roscow, of 68, Elgin Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Died at the 44th Casualty Clearing Station, Cologne, from pneumonia.

Son of Nicholas and Augusta Shortle, of 21, Shipton Street, Bolton, Lancashire. Formerly 87162, King’s Liverpool Regiment. Died at a casualty clearning station of wounds.
