Son of Reverend William Henry and Rose Eliza Claxton, of 46, Hampton Road, Forest Gate, London. Father was former pastor of the New Jerusalem Church, Bolton Road, Kearsley, Lancashire. An old boy of the Bolton Municipal Secondary School. One of four out of five sons lost. Posted missing following an attack on Turkish outposts and subsequently presumed killed.
